Another Quick Update

The internet has not been cooperative this week, so I didn’t get as much done as I hoped, but it finally decided to be nice, so I now have Something That Can’t Can’t Be Explained and These Walls back up. I will try to get some of the other stories back up as well this week.

I actually have some content updates this time! I’ve managed to get some of the stories back up on the website. The following are back up for your reading pleasure:

And I will try to get the other stories back up as soon as possible. Some of the files need updating, and some of the layouts just plain need to be redone, so I’ll slowly be adding those back to the site as well. And if you happen to find any problems, please let me know! Enjoy!

Another Status Update

Just another quick status update. I’m slowly trying to get the site up. I uploaded a new theme, and I’ve worked on a few pages, but it’s not a whole lot of progress so far. I still need to locate my old story files, and I’ll have some formatting I’ll need to fix, but, hopefully, when I locate the disc I backed things up on, it will be a quick process. That may be a project for the evenings this week. We shall see. In the meantime, I did add a couple of new pages about some of my original fiction, so maybe check that that?

Status Update

Well, I guess I’m not off to a great start since I haven’t put much work into the website in the month or so since I brought it back, but it’s definitely on my radar. Life is so much busier these days, it seems. I started working full time at my job this week. I’m happy for more hours (and, let’s face it, the money), but it definitely gives me less hours in the days and weeks to work on various things.

On a brighter note, I survived Camp NaNoWriMo. I’m working on a few different things that are in various stages of progress.

For Camp NaNoWriMo, I worked on a story I’m tentatively calling Wonderstruck. I have about seven chapters finished.

I’ve also been working on another story that’s untitled.  It’s about 250 pages, but it’s a bit of a mess at the moment. It’s kind of like a puzzle that needs to be put together.

I’m nearly finished with another named For the First Time. I have maybe thirteen chapters left to write, and it’s kind of my baby. It was the first story (aside from Infinite and Solace) I worked on after I decided to try writing original fiction.

Speaking of Solace, I’ve finished the rough draft, but I think I’m still trying to work up the energy to take on the massive rewrites that it needs, but I would love to publish it next years.

I’m also working on a few other things, but it’s mostly just little ideas that are still growing into a full stories.

I”m hoping that I can get some things put back up soon. I’ll probably have to work on one story at a time because I have to figure out where all of my files are and I’m sure the coding will need some editing, but I’ll get it done.

Guess who’s back!

A few years ago, I said goodbye to this website. It was a very difficult decision, and when I shut it down, I missed it a lot. Alone In the Pretense was a huge part of my life, for a very long time.

I felt okay about my decision for a while. I just wasn’t into Hanfic and I wasn’t using the site. It felt like such a waste to keep it open, but in the last six months, I thought about buying a domain again because not only have my missed writing, but I’ve also really missed the sense of community that I used to have. And, of course, I’ve missed designing websites (not the coding so much).

I checked a while back to see what the status was on, and the domain was taken by someone else. :( I was pretty bummed about it because it just didn’t feel right.

So, after making a post on livejournal last night and mentioning how much I missed having a domain, I decided to check just for the heck of it. Turns our AITP was available again. It felt like kismet. So I bought the domain  and hosting from A Small Orange and here I am, back again.

I’ve really moved away from writing fan fiction. I haven’t really read much of it lately either, but I do still love writing. I have several original stories in the works. I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to use the site just yet, but I would like to get back into sharing some of my writing.

It’s probably going to take a bit of time to get the site going again since I have some things to figure out, but I’m also participating in the July session of Camp NaNoWriMo.  My username is still failed2say, so if you want me in your cabin this session, please add me!
