Infinite Now Available

x-posted from

Today is a very exciting day. Nearly six years after the first version was written and after years of consideration and months and months of revisions and headaches and lots of hardwork, Infinite is now published and available for purchase.

This has been a very long endeavor, and it is a true pleasure to finally be able to share the novel with readers. I want to take a moment to thank my very good friends, Becca, Mel and Amy. They were invaluable and kept me sane throughout the process. Without their help, Infinite may not have ever been finished.

Though I have three more novels left to complete before the series is over, this story is very dear to my heart. I’ve lived with Silly (and the rest of the characters) in my head for years. Sharing her with so many people is both scary and exciting.

Today, instead of fretting about it’s reception, I am letting out a huge sigh of relief now that the book is out there. I thank, in advance, anyone who purchases the novel and takes the time to read it. I can only hope that you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

If you would like to buy a copy of Infinite, you can purchase the novel by following on of the links below!

Buy Infinite Early

Infinite (Strange and Beautiful, Book 1) by Brittney Musick For anyone interested in buying a copy of Infinite, it’s available early for purchase through CreateSpace. You can access at the CreateSpace eStore at

The book will also be available on Amazon, both in print and ebook, on the 12th of June, but this is a way for any eager readers (assuming there are any) to get a copy before then.

As I stated over at, it has been a very long process, and I am extremely happy that the book is finally accessible.

The next couple of weeks will also be quite busy as well, but instead of keeping the book’s availability through this channel a secret, I wanted to make it known to anyone who would like to get an early copy of the novel.

I’m both anxious and nervous to hear readers thoughts as well as eager myself to get back to work on the rest of the Strange and Beautiful series. I’m looking forward to a summer full of writing and revision.

Thank You

It’s been over a month since my last post, and I’ve been meaning to post an update. Mostly, I just wanted to say, “THANK YOU.” I was very nervous and worried about the reactions to my announcement in the last post, but it seems that those worries were unnecessary because everyone has been so kind and understanding.

I’ve been incredibly busy the last month getting things ready for the release of Infinite. In the last post, I don’t think I shared that the book will be out on June 12, 2012.

Also, I have received several emails about PDFs of the stories. I’ve replied to some of you, but even if you haven’t got a reply, I have been receiving the emails and I haven’t forgotten. Things are quite hectic at the moment, and I aim to get the PDFS sent out in late June/early July.

And, again, I just want to say thanks, and remind everyone that you can keep up to date one what’s happening with the book over at :)

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?
– Dr. Seuss

First, let me begin this post by saying that I’m incredibly sorry for the site being down for so long. That was never my intention.

Secondly, I have to preface the rest of this post by saying that this was not easy for me to write. I’ve put it off for months, which is part of the reason the site was down for so long.

I think it has been abundantly clear that I have not been nearly as active in the Hanfic world as I used to be. While I am still love Hanson (and likely always will), my desire to write fan fiction has disappeared. For a couple of years I struggled with writing. Then last November during NaNoWriMo I decided to try my hand at writing original fiction and I found myself remembering why I loved writing. It seemed to be wake up I needed to realized that part of my struggle with writing lie in what I was trying to write.

I’ve been writing fan fiction for a very long time – at least half of my life, and while I’d always planned to switch to original fiction at some point, I found myself too comfortable with the fan fiction community to branch out. However, many of my stories became less and less about writing fan fiction or anything to do with Hanson. In my mind, aside from the names several of my stories are original fiction. Having my drive to write renewed during NaNoWriMo seemed seemed to be the push I needed to finally step outside of the box I’d allowed myself to get stuck in, which is why I’ve decided to step away from writing fan fiction.

As you may have already noticed, I’ve removed most of my fiction from the site. Because some kind soul(s) was/were kind enough to nominate me at the Blank Page awards, I’ve left Under Dust Painted Skies and Orange Sky up until the awards are over, and my collaborations are also still available. Some of my other stories can also be found on other sites for various challenges as well. And, because I don’t want people to be angry with me, I am willing to email PDF versions of the stories to those that ask. The exception is Infinite and Solace.

Which brings me to my next point, I am publishing Infinite (and the rest of the Strange and Beautiful series). I am currently in the process of doing the final edits for the story, and the plan is for it to be available in June. This story and series have always, in my mind, been an original piece of fiction. The story is essentially the same as what I originally posted online, but there have been some changes with things being added or taken away, and, of course, any characters resembling real people have been changed into the person I always saw in my head.

As for Solace, I know many of you have been waiting to read the entire story, and I don’t want anyone to feel like I’ve taken it down and am forcing you to purchase it (when it’s availabe) to find out how the story ends. I intend to revise it quite extensively because I struggled so much with trying to write the story as fan fiction and the story I wanted to write sort of got away from me, so I expect the finished product to have some similiarites but a different execusion of those ideas.

I truly am sad and nervous about leaving this type of writing. The Hanson community has been a big part of my life, and while I will no longer be writing it in, I may still read and will definitely hang around for the music. I’m not planning to disappear completely. I expect my level of participation will probably stay about the same as it has been in the last year or so, which is to say pretty low key as someone who just enjoys the music.

As for, it is renewed until December of this year. I’m not planning to close it down because there are several people hosted here. However, if I do end up closing the site, I will make sure everyone has a new home before doing so.

Lastly, I just want to extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone who has visited the site over the years. Your kind words and support of my work over the years means so much to me; words cannot express how much that means to me. It’s been an amazing ride, and I’ve truly been blessed because I met all of my closest and dearest friends through the Hanfic community. I can’t and won’t ever forget that.

My hope is that everyone will understand my decision and respect it. I know, realistically, that some of you might be angry or disappointed. To the former, thank you, and the latter I am sorry, but I have to do what is right for me, and this feels like the right decision.

For anyone who would like to keep up with my progress on my publishing venture, you can visit my website at To those people who would like a PDF version of any of my stories, please email me at with the subject “PDF” and a list of the stories you’d like.

And if you’ve like to contact me regarding this news, you can leave a comment, which I can directly reply to, or sign the guestbook (although I don’t know how long that will remain up).

Thank you for reading, and I wish you all the best and hope to see you around!

My, Oh, My

If you could see my face, you’d know that I look very shameful at this moment. Without really thinking about it, I seemed to go on an unannounced hiatus from the Hanfic world. To be completely honest, this hasn’t been an easy year. There’s been a lot of a stress and very little inspiration in kind to do any writing.

That being said, I’m trying to jump back into things. First, I did a site update. There’s a new layout, obviously, and there were several things that needed to be update. The most notable is probably that I’ve removed several of the sub-sites for stories and have replaced them with PDFs. Most of them were either older stories or stories that have been on an indefinite hiatus. I also created a subdomain for all of my collaborative projects. Many of those stories were also converted over to PDFs. I’m considering making PDFs of the rest of my completed stories. Please let me know if that’s something you’d like to see. I know, personally, I like to read longer stories on my Kindle, so I’d be happy to do that if there’s an interest.

I’ve also updated the hostees section. I removed several subdomains for stories that are now in PDF format, but I gain a couple of hostees. Since Becca closed her domain,, she asked me if I’d host Hayley’s Hanfic, so that it wouldn’t be lost, which I gladly agreed to. The other hostee is Mel, and it was really more of an expansion. Her site is Rain Queen, and her story Lessons of a Laundry Mat Attendant can be found there in addition to her other story Queens In Castles of Beaded Lace, which you should check out if you have not done so already. She also has another one in the works that I personally love and think you will as well. It’s called Push, so keep an eye out for it!

I also had several awards that I need to add to the site from the Author’s Only, Hanficcy Awards, Hanson Only and Thieves and Liars. Many of these took place during my hiatus from Hanfic, so I truly appreciate people still thinking of me and my stories in my absence. I truly appreciate it!

Now that I’ve covered the site related updates, I do actually have some story updates too! I know, I know. Shocking, right? First, I wrote a couple of shorts. The first is a Harry Potter one that’s very short called Something More, which can be found here. It was a gift for Becca’s birthday. The second is called I Could Not Ask For More. It can be found here. It’s a Trash future-shot from Taylor’s pov that I wrote for Mel’s birthday.

And the biggest fiction update is Chapter Six of Solace. And when I say biggest, I really mean that. The chapter was a monster, topping out at 24 pages. Hopefully, that will gain me some forgiveness for my sloth-like ways this year.

I’m going to attempt to complete Solace this year during NaNoWriMo. I have somewhere between 10-12 chapters left to write, and you can expect the next Solace update to be sometime in early December. I owe Mel a huge thank you for tackling the task of editing these chapters.

Also, most of the year I’ve spent my downtime reading. If you’re interested in my diverse reading habits, you can find me and friend me at GoodReads, and if you’re interested in reading my book, movie, tv reviews, please check out Bitter Shade, my review blog.

And, last but not least, thank you to Linda, Rae, C, and Elien for signing the guestbook. I’m anxious for some feedback on Solace, so if you read, please consider taking a minute to sign the guestbook and let me know what you think!
